|Since This Photo Has Become So Popular I Decided To Turn It Into A Print|
Been so busy lately and time has just been flying by! It's a week into December already! My boyfriend is graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in a little over a week. He's going for a Doctorate Degree. He has finals next week and then his official graduation will be the 15th. Its weird hearing that people are doing finals when I'm only halfway through my first session at the tech school. We dont have "semesters" but 3 month "sessions". So in the middle of February I will be starting another session. My expected graduation will be the end of August 2015 and I got straight through with no breaks (no such thing as a summer break here). I have 2 more school projects I need to finish before Christmas but they'll be easy so it wont take long.
Got an African Dwarf Frog almost a week ago and 4 Rosy Red Minnows yesterday for my fish tank. I ended up with 1 male and 3 females so I was going to get one more male, preferrably one thats mature and starting to develop breeding tubercles, so they breed more (they're more pushed to breed if theres competition). Was thinking of getting another frog too maybe.
I had 10 neon tetras I got on Black Friday (since I was working and out that day anyway) and they were all dead by Monday. Turned out the pet store gave me a bad bunch because I took a water sample for them to test when I brought the corpses in since they insisted on the phone that it was MY fault and I MUST have poor water quality. They were so rude to me on the phone and then even in person when I went in. The woman tested the water and then said "Your ammonia and nitrite levels are really high!" But of course she was holding the test strip in a way that I couldn't see it. I demanded to see it and she reluctantly handed it over but withheld the color chart key which I had to ask for twice before I actually removed it from her hands myself. Turned out my water was perfect and she just didn't want me to get my money back apparently (I guess if you're responsible for killing them you dont get refunded). Plus if it was my water my other fish and my frog would have gone belly up too but they were fine.
So hopefully the minnows do good and start breeding. I'm gonna be keeping the tank light on 15 hours a day to kickstart the process. I have a nice little breeder net too which I will collect the eggs in to protect them once they're fertilized and the male rubs the antifungal on them. Once they hatch I'll just keep them in the breeder net to grow unless a ton of the eggs survive and hatch and then I will put them in my old 1.5 gallon betta tank so they have room to move. I know it may sound cruel but I was planning on breeding them to keep my tank stocked for one but also so that my raccoon can have some fresh live meat (they are called feeder fish for a reason). She loves minnows.
Very excited for The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug to come out in theaters! Was planning on going to see it at midnight opening day. My 3 movie t-shirts that I ordered fron thehobbitshop.com came in the mail today too so I was super excited. I got one that says Elven Guards Of Mirkwood on it, the Mirkwood forest one, and the black Legolas shirt. Had to wash them because they still smelled like vinegar from being freshly inked and pressed (had another shirt I got online come smelling like that, must be how some places cure or press them maybe).
Trying to get more photos uploaded tonight but the dA uploader is having issues so I may try again tomorrow. I think 2 will successfully submit tonight.
