I think that my favorite thing about my hometown is that it is a very rural area and it is a great place to find many exceptional landscape scenes! I live in the middle of the State Game Lands which are a great area for wildlife and plants to thrive. This photo was taken at the one end of my road where it comes to a crossroad. The last half of my road was never paved and is still just crushed stones as you can see. The reason my half of the road was paved was because the school bus needed to come to pick up my sister and I and we were the only kids living out here at the time. Otherwise we would have had to go almost half a mile to be picked up at the one end by the old church because the school district refused to drive on stone roads. The area around my house gets very unique weather due to the pattern of fields and woodlands and it is not hard to find an amazing site (like when it is dark and raining at the neighboring house and clear and sunny at mine at the same time and you can just see the curtain of rain). The fog here is always thick and has that mystic storybook feel to it when it rolls in. What is so great is that most of the land around here is left almost undisturbed and you can just sit back and enjoy the sounds of nature. When I was younger and even still today I love just stepping off the back roads and spending the day exploring and finding new and beautiful sights!

I absolutely adore the way you combined the red and orange colors along with the green. The road disappearing into the background adds a nice touch to the impact. When I see this, it makes me feel as if I am really there. The right side of the trees is a little grainy, but his only adds to the mysterious secrets this place might hide. The techniques was a four star because of the slight grain in the trees. I would rate the impact a six star if I could. When you see this photo, it really reaches out to the viewer and pulls them in. Overall, this is a wonderfully put together piece of photography!
